Supported by an educational grant from Horizon Pharma Most Popular Activities Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common type of kidney cancer and is responsible for about 90% of all primary renal neoplasms. Additionally, RCC is associated with an increased risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and kidney failure. CKD in cancer survivors increases the long-term risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Significant advances in treating RCC have occurred within the past 10 years, including targeted therapies and multiple immuno-oncology (IO) agents.
